What is Angelman Syndrome?
Angelman syndrome is a complex genetic disorder that causes developmental and neurological issues, such as severe speech impairment and difficulty with walking and balancing (Ataxia).
According to Science Direct, it affects about 1 in 10,000 people. People with Angelman syndrome are often happy and affectionate, laughing frequently, even at inappropriate times. They may also have epilepsy and often have low levels of pigment in their skin, hair and eyes.
